MB Drift was founded in 2005 when a few Myrtle Beach drifters were looking for a closer place to drift than Atlanta. MB Drift, previously known as Myrtle Beach Drift Series, hosted grassroots drift events and competitions at the Myrtle Beach Speedway from 2005-2020. At the end of 2020, the Myrtle Beach Speedway was rezoned to be sold to developers and torn down. MB Drift found a new home at the famous Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, NC.
Drifting had never been to The Rock until December 2020 – when we hosted our first event. Rockingham is a former NASCAR track with a 1 mile oval track, infield road course, garages, and combo 1/2 mile 1/4 mile short track on the back side of the NASCAR oval. It has been our home since then. There are big plans in store for The Rock 2023, so come on out and check us out!
GRASSROOTS DRIFT SERIES
Our competition series is designed to take entry level drifters and build their skills to the point where they can graduate from MB Drift and be competitive in Pro-Am and higher drift competitions. We have no power restrictions and minimal chassis restrictions, instead we equalize the field with a 245 rear tire width cap and through course design/layout.
